Hello there everyone,
It is a pleasure for us to update you about the re-opening of school after COVID-19 lockdown, starting with the candidates i.e. S.4 and S.6.
We have been waiting for this period and have been anxious to avoid a dead year! We believe we are going to salvage the academic year. We trust that the government of the Republic of Uganda will come up with a programme for the noncandidate classes too. Such an arrangement if put in place will be made known to you. In the meantime, we have attempted to avail the required health Standard Opening Procedures (SOPs) as guided by the COVID-19 task force of the Republic of Uganda.
The inspection team from the Directorate of Education standards, Ministry of Education and Sports headed by Dr Olive Lunyolo, visited us on 08th October 2020. We scored 88% on their inspection scoreboard, which gives us a green light to reopen the school. I want to appreciate my team headed by Deputy Headteacher, (Administration) Mr Ssekiziyivu Edward for working around the clock to satisfy the inspection team. We are now ready to welcome back the students starting with S.4s on 14th October and on 15th October for S.6s. Classes will commence on 16th October.
We have had a series of meetings to get us ready. We wish to thank parents of reporting students for attending our interactive
meetings held on 01st and 02nd October. Requirements for reopening of the school were outlined from here. A circular to that effect was given out.
Upon the improvement of the general health situation in the country, we shall
convene a Parent-Teachers’ meeting.
